Author Guidelines

1. General Guidelines 

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and academically appropriate language.

  • Authors are encouraged to follow the “5Cs” principle: Correct, Concise, Clear, Courteous, Complete.

  • Submissions are accepted in English, Japanese, or Chinese. Authors should ensure consistency in style and terminology.

  • All manuscripts must be original, unpublished work and not under consideration elsewhere.

2. Manuscript Structure 

The manuscript should follow the structure below (flexible by discipline):

  1. Title Page 

    • Title, author(s), affiliation(s), corresponding author email

  2. Abstract

    • 200–500 words

    • Must explain objectives, methodology, and results concisely

  3. Keywords / キーワード

    • 3–6 words

  4. Main Text 

    • Introduction 

    • Literature Review

    • Methodology

    • Results

    • Discussion 

    • Conclusion

  5. Acknowledgements 

  6. References 

    • English
      Follow the ACM citation style: https://www.acm.org/publications/authors/reference-formatting
      References must be cited in the text using numbers in brackets, e.g., [1], [2].
      EAPIS also accepts manuscripts prepared in APA style (author-date system). However, for the final publication, all accepted manuscripts will be converted into ACM format by the editorial team to ensure consistency.

3. Formatting

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX (PDF + source files).

  • Font: Times New Roman (12pt) for English; full-width characters for Japanese/Chinese.

  • Layout: A4, margins 1 inch (2.54cm) on all sides.

  • Figures & Tables:

    • Figures: captions below (e.g., Fig. 1).

    • Tables: captions above (e.g., Table 1).

  • Length: 6,000–10,000 words recommended (including references).

4. Ethical Policy

  • All submissions are subject to double-blind peer review.

  • Plagiarism, duplicate submission, and unethical research practices are strictly prohibited.

  • Use of AI tools (e.g., for translation, writing support, data analysis) is permitted, but authors must disclose substantial AI contributions and remain responsible for accuracy and originality.

 

5. Submission

English
In the OJS system, users can manage their profile and select roles such as Reader, Author, and Reviewer. Once the Author role is enabled, the sidebar provides access to submission options, including “Start A New Submission,” allowing authors to submit manuscripts directly through the platform.

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the OJS online submission system.

  • Authors should ensure that their submission complies with these guidelines before uploading.

  • Initial review results are typically provided within 6–8 weeks.
