East Asian Perspectives: Intelligence and Society (EAPIS) is an international, interdisciplinary, open-access journal dedicated to advancing scholarly dialogue across artificial intelligence, information technology, the humanities, social sciences, area studies, and business research.

The journal emphasizes the intersections between intelligent technologies and society, welcoming both theoretical and empirical contributions, including comparative and cross-regional studies.

Aims and Scope

EAPIS publishes high-quality original work in, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Artificial intelligence and society, ethics, and governance

  • Regional and cross-cultural comparative studies

  • Digital humanities and cultural technologies

  • Business innovation and industrial transformation

  • Intercultural communication and global academic exchange

By integrating perspectives across disciplines, EAPIS aims to serve as a bridge connecting East Asia with the global scholarly community.

Peer Review Policy

To ensure fairness, transparency, and academic rigor, EAPIS adopts a dual-layer peer review system:

  • Double-blind external review by qualified international experts, ensuring impartiality.

  • Internal editorial review by the editorial board, confirming alignment with the journal’s scope and standards.

This two-level system guarantees scholarly integrity and the publication of high-quality research.

Publication Model

EAPIS is a non-profit publication committed to editorial independence, integrity, and transparency.

The journal operates under a fully open-access policy

  • All articles are freely available for reading, downloading, and sharing.

  • No submission or publication fees are charged to authors.

  • As a closed-source academic journal, articles may be cited and shared for academic purposes, but redistribution, republication, or commercial use without permission is prohibited.

Policy on AI Tools

EAPIS does not employ automated detection systems to measure AI-generated content. Instead, we encourage the proper and transparent use of AI tools for academic purposes (e.g., language support, data analysis, visualization). Authors are expected to disclose substantial AI assistance, while retaining full responsibility for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of their work.

Multilingual Platform

EAPIS is a multilingual journal, accepting manuscripts in Chinese, English, and Japanese. All submissions follow the same editorial policy, peer review process, and academic standards.

Launch and Frequency

EAPIS is preparing its inaugural issue (Vol.1 No.1, December 2025).

The journal will be published irregularly, at least twice per year.
